This Board performs primary source verification prior to issuing a license.

Note: N.C.G.S. 90-118.10 provides that applications for relicensure accompanied by the appropriate fees are due on or before December 31 of each year. There is, however, a grace period of ninety (90) days during which the applicant may make application for renewal. If the application accompanied by the appropriate fee is not received before March 31 of the year for which the renewal is required, every person thereafter continuing to practice in North Carolina shall be guilty of the unauthorized practice of optometry and shall be subject to the penalties prescribed by G.S. 90-118.11.
